Глагол ссылать ('высылать') передается английскими banish, exile и transport, выражающими общую мысль о насильственном удалении или перемещении. Banish означает 'принуждать кого-л., силой общественного декрета или приговора, покинуть город, страну (чужую или свою родину)': Dante was banished from Florence because of political troubles. Exile имеет в виду принудительный выезд только из своей страны, города и т, д. и подразумевает не только приговор или декрет, но вынуждающие обстоятельства: in 1897 Lenin was exiled to Siberia.
